Abstract
The prostaglandins are a family of compounds possessing a remarkable and bewildering array of physiologic actions. They are so potent that they produce striking effects in microgram amounts. One of their future applications may be in the area of therapeutic abortion. They have also been shown to be useful in induction of labor. Another potential application is antihypertensive therapy.
