Topical Therapy of Burns

, M.D.
Pages 105-108 | Published online: 06 Jul 2016

Abstract

The burn problem in the United States is a very costly one, in terms of both human suffering and economic loss. Significant advances in topical therapy for burns have been made in recent years, including tangential excision, homografts and heterografts, and drugs to combat superficial infection. Ultimately, however, physicians will save more lives by preventive efforts than by topical therapy.
