Abstract

The topical medications used to control excessive perspiration either absorb excess sweat or block sweat ducts. Methenamine promises to be quite effective for this purpose. Systemic medications, such as tranquilizers or mild sedatives, are often effective when the emotional component is prominent. Usefulness of the anticholinergic drugs is limited by systemic side effects.
