Abstract

Curing bacterial skin infections depends on identifying the pathogens and giving the right antibiotics in adequate amounts by the most effective route. But the host as well as the infecting organism must be considered. All cutaneous infections are breaches of the host defense system. If they recur often or are severe, the fault may lie in a breakdown of this system.
