Medical Hazards of Aerosols

First of Two Parts

Abstract

An objective assessment of respiratory side effects of aerosol products is considerably more complex than an investigation of possible dermal sensitization. Irritant and immunologic effects must be clearly distinguished. The aspects to consider include the particle size of the dispensed materials, hereditary and constitutional factors in the patient, and the toxic, irritative and allergenic potential of the ingredients.
