Abstract

Inhalation of ingredients of pressurized aerosol packs has been linked with respiratory reactions ranging from granulomatous lesions to anaphylaxis. This discussion reviews the technics for investigating a respiratory problem that may be due to such exposure. An inhalation test provides a basis for direct proof of a substance's irritative or allergenic potential, but should be done only under carefully controlled conditions.
