, M.D.
Pages 62-66 | Published online: 06 Jul 2016

Abstract

The anticipation of an adverse reaction offers the best chance for success in dealing with anaphylaxis.

A wary physician who expects this emergency will do all that is possible to prevent it and will be ready to treat it If it does occur. He will recognize any previous adverse reaction to a drug or any history of atopy as an extra risk factor. He will observe the necessary precautions in skin testing and will be aware of limitations of these cutaneous tests.
