Abstract

In a series of 61 patients with a diagnosis of suspected or observed hypoglycemia, the two most common findings were reactive hypoglycemia as a variant of normal and chemical diabetes mellitus. In most of these patients, the degree of hypoglycemia that occurred during testing did not produce major symptoms. Such patients often have emotional and psychosomatic problems, but it is difficult to attribute them to the hypoglycemia.
