Abstract
Increasing numbers of physicians are performing routine laboratory tests in their offices, a practice that offers several advantages: early diagnosis, reduced morbidity, good care and follow-up, and economy. The procedures described are easy to perform, use simple equipment and reasonably stable materials, and produce results that are easy to interpret and fairly reliable.
