Abstract

This article presents an excellent summary of the inadequate circulatory profusion states collectively termed shock and the guiding principles of treatment, based on the pathology of the underlying disease. Numerous articles in recent medical literature have dealt with hemorrhagic, endotoxic, and cardiogenic shock, but the other causes are often obscure and diagnosis is not uncommonly missed.—MSR
