Abstract
The key to successful management of the infant with serious heart disease is early recognition, careful transfer to a specialized center, and good diagnostic and surgical management. Good pediatric cardiac care also includes heart disease prevention, with recognition and management during childhood of risk factors associated with adult coronary disease.
