Hyperuricemia in leukemia and lymphoma

Abstract

In patients with leukemia or lymphoma, hyperuricemia may be catastrophic. It may strike without warning during effective oncolytic therapy and lead to acute renal failure. Treatment consists of blocking uric acid formation, hydration, alkalization, osmotic diuresis, and peritoneal dialysis.
