Halothane Hepatitis

Abstract

The rare occurrence of postoperative jaundice known as “halothane hepatitis” remains a perplexing clinical problem. The diagnosis should be made only after other more common causes of jaundice are excluded. Various theories have been offered, but the mechanism of liver damage remains unexplained.
