Abstract

There is growing evidence of the efficacy of the immunosuppressive drugs, notably methotrexate, in the treatment of severe skin diseases. Unresponsiveness to more conventional forms of therapy is one of several criteria that must be met before these agents are used. A major advantage of the immunosuppressants is a steroid-sparing effect.
