Abstract
Allergic bronchopulmonary aspergillosis is being recognized with increasing frequency in the United States. The inciting allergen is Aspergillus, a ubiquitous fungus found in soil and decaying organic matter. Major criteria for diagnosis are asthma, eosinophils of sputum and blood, recurrent pulmonary infiltrates, and allergy to antigens of Aspergillus by skin test. Adrenal corticosteroid therapy is effective.
