Abstract

Radiation treatment has been known to be useful in the management of breast carcinoma for many years. It remains useful as primary therapy in selected cases and as an adjuvant to surgery in patients at high risk of recurrence. It may be effective as palliative treatment for local symptoms of systemic disease.
