Not-so-hyper hyperlipoproteinemia and coronary artery disease

Abstract

The role played by hyperlipoproteinemia in the pathogenesis of atherosclerosis is still open to conjecture. Clinical and epidemiologic studies, however, seem to indicate that even mild hyperlipoproteinemia may be an important factor and that a diet low in cholesterol and saturated fats may reduce the risk of subsequent coronary artery disease.
