Urinary Tract Infections in Children and Adolescents

Abstract

Reliability of the diagnosis of urinary tract infection depends on the urine collection process, since bacterial contamination of the specimen is common. Once diagnosis is confirmed, initial therapy should be determined by patient history of antibiotic use, location of the infection, and drug cost.
