Acute and Chronic Hepatitis in Children

Abstract

Viral hepatitis, especially type A, is seldom long lasting or fulminant in children. However, because the prognosis for fulminant or chronic active disease is often poor, accurate diagnosis—by liver biopsy if chronic disease is suspected—and proper treatment are important.
