Abstract

Computed tomography (CT) of the body is becoming as well established a diagnostic procedure as CT of the head, often yielding information not available by other techniques and sparing patients unnecessary surgery. To take proper advantage of CT, physicians should understand the full potential and practical applications of this new technique. Properly used, it can expedite diagnosis and decrease the number of procedures needed per patient.
