Abstract
Among a number of techniques of “artificial” reproduction that have been in the news recently, the concept of developing a germ cell or an embryo outside the body has drawn a good deal of fire from critics. Besides the potential clinical application in cases of infertility, ectogenetic procedures hold promise as research tools.
