Laboratory diagnosis of rheumatoid diseases

Abstract

Most of the standard laboratory tests for rheumatoid disease are limited in their ability to differentiate one entity from another. Therefore, the physician usually must rely on clinical findings. New tests that identify collagen disease autoantibodies are being developed and promise to improve diagnostic specificity.
