“I'm dizzy, doctor” is a complaint heard frequently. While this symptom has various causes and is extremely distressing to the patient, it is usually treatable. Dr Baloh's article outlines the treatment regimens for vertigo and answers many questions, such as, How can the physician help relieve the patient's anxiety? What determines the choice of drugs to treat vertigo? How does an exercise program facilitate the patient's recovery? When is surgical therapy appropriate?
