As discussed in part 1 (page 239) of this two-part article, numerous techniques have been developed for noninvasive study of the vasculature in the region of the carotid bifurcation. In part 2, Dr Anderson discusses the predictive performance of the tests—as judged by comparison with angiographic findings, surgical or pathologic observations, or the natural history—and the practical relevance of the tests' predictive performance.
