The rising incidence of pulmonary tuberculosis in the United States has renewed physician interest in this scourge of the early to mid 20th century. With today's drugs and management techniques, active tuberculosis is now largely preventable, according to Dr J. Richard Johnson in his article on chemopropbylaxis (page 64), and 99% curable with short-course chemotherapy, as Dr Dall points out in this article.
