Emergency care of the injured child

One fifth of trauma victims in the United States are in the pediatric age-group. As with patients of all age-groups, their chance for survival increases tremendously if they receive optimum emergency care. In this article, two pediatric surgeons detail the special needs of the traumatized child and give tips on how the emergency care facility can be ready to meet these needs.
