Americans seem particularly susceptible to feelings of anxiety and tension, undoubtedly due in great part to our fast-paced way of life. Reactions to stressful situations can take many forms, among them panic. In this article, Dr Katerndahl discusses current views on the nature, etiology, and treatment of panic attacks, which, left untreated, can have serious consequences.
