Commonsense measures to reduce them

The elderly today represent the fastest growing segment of the American population. This “graying of America” poses a challenge to the medical profession to tailor traditional health care to the needs of the aging patient. Of particular concern is the high use of medication, both prescription and over-the-counter, which increases the risk for drug interactions and toxicity. These risks can be reduced by following the commonsense measures outlined here by Dr Lamy.
