What the past decade has taught us

During the past ten years, changes in the management of primary breast cancer—including mammographic screening, surgical alternatives to radical mastectomy, adjuvant chemotherapy for certain patients, and use of estrogen and progesterone receptor data to predict recurrence—have decreased mortality from this disease. Dr Rudolph proposes a logical approach to diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer, based on results of randomized controlled trials conducted over the past decade.
