Ovarian cancer is the leading killer among gynecologic malignancies, and its incidence appears to be increasing in the United States. Nevertheless, significant medical advances offer hope for earlier diagnosis and better treatment and thus an improved survival rate. Drs Piver and Patsner examine the progress that has been made in the past ten years and the prospects for the future.
