Although most anal lesions are benign, some are not, and these may have a dismal prognosis if unrecognized or untreated. In this article, Drs Crooms and Kovalcik review the symptoms and treatments of malignant, premalignant, and benign anal lesions and provide colored photographs to aid identification.
