Improvements in the last decade in high-risk obstetric and neonatal care have dramatically decreased mortality and morbidity of premature infants. Survival of small and often sick infants, however, has resulted in a new set of problems for physicians to handle. Dr Narayan describes the most common of these problems and ways to manage them.
