Production of monoclonal antibodies that have reactivity to selected antigens is now possible. As Dr Rabin discusses, these antibodies may have diagnostic and therapeutic applications in patients with malignancy, and their clinical use as therapeutic agents should diminish the need for cancer chemotherapy with its attendant serious side effects.
