Many young persons, particularly those involved in sports, are understandably concerned about their cardiac status, and they seek reassurance and advice from their primary care physician. In this article, the authors review the steps in cardiovascular examination of these patients, emphasizing the findings that are normal in this age-group and those that call for further investigation.
