“As a group, children who have attention deficit disorder with hyperactivity are among the most misunderstood and mistreated children in our society,” reports Dr Hesterly. In this article, he proposes a physician-directed therapeutic approach that can greatly ease the burden of frustration borne by child, parents, and teachers alike. Although stimulants are usually vital to therapeutic success, certain factors may complicate their use.
