Although relatively common in children, asymptomatic hematuria rarely signals significant renal disease. Tb be on the safe side, however, the practitioner must be cognizant of all the possible causes. In this article, Dr Blau offers a thorough account of the differential diagnosis. Of particular note is his assertion that the need for invasive diagnostic procedures is rare.
