The number of persons who die from leukemia-associated infections is appallingly high despite notable advances in supportive care. Dr Dreizen and his colleagues present an anatomic road map, as it were, of the readily discernible infection sites in leukemia patients in the hope that early recognition will lead to early control and prevention of fatal dissemination.
