Few cancers metastasize as widely as lung cancer. Metastases to the skin and subcutaneous lymph nodes are less common than metastases to other organs, but they provide a valuable clue to what may be an otherwise quiescent primary lesion. In addition, these metastatic lesions serve as very sensitive monitors of response to chemotherapy.
