Suicide and alcoholism are serious, related problems in every age-group, but most of all in the elderly. Why are older persons particularly vulnerable to alcohol abuse and suicidal behavior? In this article, Dr Osgood explains why older persons may turn to alcohol and even suicide and discusses what can be done to reverse this growing trend.
