Arthroscopy is a frequently used diagnostic and surgical method, and applications will widen as techniques and instruments improve. It has proven to be effective in evaluation and treatment of the knee, shoulder, elbow, wrist, and ankle, and investigation of its use in other joints is under way. Dr Fullerton summarizes the current applications and capabilities of this valuable procedure.
