Hospital laboratories throughout the country are now able to measure drug concentrations in plasma. These levels can provide information relevant to drug efficacy, toxicity, and pharmacokinetics that, when properly used by the clinician, can lead to dramatic improvements in the safe and efficacious use of potentially dangerous drugs.
