Lesions of the scrotal sac or its contents can cause relatively mild symptoms, such as testicular enlargement, discoloration, tenderness, or a firm mass. Sometimes, however, the patient comes to his primary care physician with excruciating pain or marked swelling, on occasion accompanied by systemic symptoms.
