Who can benefit? What's new? One or two?

Recent advances in technology have made hearing aids more acceptable to patients than ever before. Yet, less than one fourth of Americans with hearing loss own a hearing aid. The authors believe that primary care physicians can play a major role in detecting hearing loss and in providing guidance to the hearing- impaired. Early diagnosis, patient motivation, and proper selection and fitting of amplification are keys to hearing aid success.
