The diabetes of pregnancy causes stress, both physical and psychological, for the mother and poses decided risk to the fetus. With a carefully structured treatment program, close monitoring, and regular follow-up, the woman with gestational diabetes has a good chance of enjoying a relatively normal pregnancy and delivering a healthy child, as outlined by Dr Hollander, a member of a world-renowned diabetes center.
