Toxoplasmosis is a serious threat to the fetus. Diagnosis can be difficult and treatment of the infected mother is problematic. Yet, recent diagnostic advances and results of studies in France offer hope for reducing the severity of—and possibly someday eliminating—this multisystem disease. Dr Rosenfeld reviews the latest findings in this rapidly changing field.
