Extreme pyrexia during bretylium administration

Relatively few conditions cause body temperature to rise above 41.1 °C (106 °F). In this report, the authors describe a patient whose temperature rose to 42.3 °C (108.2 °F) during intravenous administration of bretylium. Such an extreme reaction to this agent apparently has not been reported previously.
