Although menopause can produce many unpleasant symptoms, quality of life need not be compromised. Estrogen replacement therapy can effectively treat most of the problems that result from ovarian failure. Such therapy has some risks, but according to the author of this article, the benefits appear to outweigh the hazards. Dr Charles explains why and when to consider estrogen replacement for the postmenopausal woman.
