Peritoneal dialysis is the most common form of home dialysis. Although used predominantly for the treatment of renal failure, other clinical uses have become practical because of recent dramatic improvements in methods. In this article, Dr Twardowski discusses regimens and techniques for peritoneal dialysis, as well as promising new developments.
