Cuts and scrapes of knees and elbows

“Skinned” knees and elbows are everyday occurrences in active children, and they are seen commonly in other age-groups as well. Although many such injuries appear minor, they occasionally obscure significant disruption of deeper structures. Proper care of knee and elbow wounds permits diagnosis of any related injury to the joint, nerves, or tendons and maximizes the chances for prompt and complete healing.
