Cardiac disease in diabetes

Diabetic patients with cardiac disease may be asymptomatic or may present with signs and symptoms similar to those seen in nondiabetics. The diabetes may, however, complicate appropriate cardiac treatment somewhat in this article, Drs Ettinger and Regan examine the findings of controlled studies on diabetic patients with cardiac disease and discuss the implications for treatment with drugs and/or surgery.
